CARMENERE,for colour

Carmenere allows a rich and deep colored wine and gains in character when added to another grape varieties.

It gives rich colored wines, rather tannic with a slight bitterness.Carmenere develops aromas such as beetrootm coffee, spices, strawberry, raspberry, and if aged in oak, toast and licorice.

Carmenere is a mix between cabernet Franc and gros cabernet and it is one of the oldest grape varieties in the Bordeaux Vineyard. However, further to phylloxeric invasion carmenere is no longer produced in large quantities.
